Take a giant aircraft hangar, the Governor of Texas, 500 Eagle Scouts, an F16 and a Jumbo Jet, and make a night to remember! This was our task in April 2008 to produce a gala event for the Boy Scouts of America and Continental Airlines. Stonefilms provided staging, event production, and both stationary and roving camera setups.

Six 50 inch Hi Def Plasma screens lined the staging area, and the audience experienced the “wow” factor we were looking for!

We love working with the Pets segments, in support of the Houston SPCA.

Following the collapse of Enron, energy companies across the nation collapsed or were put on life support. Houston based Reliant Energy was trading at 99 cents, and minutes away from bankruptcy. The board of directors brought in a new CEO, and in a few short years, Joel Staff turned the company around. A former FERC Commissioner calls the company’s transformation “from worst to first”.

Stonefilms was hired to document the turnaround, and our production team produced a dynamic ten minute film that highlights the new corporate leadership, and the bright future for Reliant Energy.

Our crews love these shoots, especially the ones at the animal shelters. And yes, we have adopted a puppy!

BROADCAST COMMERCIALS

Stonefilms has a long history of producing dynamic broadcast content. We were blessed to be able to work on The Eyes of Texas, producing 88 episodes that aired throughout Texas.

Today we are producing several long format broadcast programs each year, as well as producing HD Television spots. Woodlands Custom Vision recently utilized our HD shooting package, and the :30 spots have played in several markets throughout Texas.
The HD looks great, but you will also note that Stonefilms wrote the spots, directed, edited, added the musical score and produced the color sessions. You’ll see a lot goes into 30 seconds…

EVENT PRODUCTION

Stonefilms offers complete production services, from content to event staging. For the last few years, we have been fortunate to work with the Boy Scouts of America, developing video content and event production for annual galas.
Stage and lighting design, music, video content, and show direction; we have a team of expert production veterans who know how important events are for fundraising and image.

In 2009, the Boy Scouts setup included a large stage, 3 rear projection screens, custom lighting and set décor, and a Stonefilms produced 13 minute video that highlighted the philanthropic community of Houston. The main ballroom of the Hilton Americas was truly transformed. Here’s a scene from the show…

CORPORATE HISTORY

One of the most unique assets that Stonefilms possesses is the ability to assist and even manage comprehensive historical research for our clients. In the spring of 2009 Del Papa Distributing, one of the largest beer distributorships in the nation, began preparations for its 100th anniversary in 2010. The company hired Elmore Public Relations to manage its upcoming year-long celebration, and Elmore in turn hired Stonefilms to conduct the research that was necessary to completely tell Del Papa’s story. Ron Stone Jr, with his background as an archivist and an historian, led our research team as it uncovered a wealth of manuscripts, newspaper articles, advertisements, photographs, and other images related to the history of the Del Papa family and company.

After 7 months of research, Ron presented our findings to Del Papa Distributing. Important details relating to the company’s beginnings had been uncovered, along with a number of historical images. The response was outstanding. Del Papa now had a comprehensive look at its history, and the material it now had in hand would be the foundation of its multimedia approach to the 100th anniversary. And Stonefilms will be working on that multimedia campaign, producing everything from radio spots to newsletters to a video documenting the anniversary celebration.

WEB BASED PROGRAMMING

Over the past few years we’ve seen a growing number of our clients ask us to help them raise their profile on the Internet. As a result, some of our most effective videos live entirely online. Stonefilms began working with The Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County (MHMRA) in the summer of 2008 to produce a series of brief overview pieces that would serve as online introductions to various MHMRA component programs. Our association with MHMRA goes back many years, so we were able to create a working atmosphere that respected the special needs of MHMRA clients. Our crews documented a wide range of activities, showing developmentally disabled children, teenagers, and adults in classroom, group therapy, and residential settings, to name a few.

Today anyone interested in MHMRA can navigate its website and look at overviews of over a dozen of the authority’s programs. Clients and their families have a greater picture of the wide range of innovative services offered by the agency. And MHMRA now has a readily available means of presenting its “face” to the media. Our connection to this outstanding social services agency remains strong; in the fall of 2009 we documented MHMRA’s new in-house campaign highlighting respect in the workplace.
